PlayStation producer Sony wil lower the price of the portable PSP in the United States. The Telegraaf announces that the PlayStation Portable will be 15% cheaper because of the strong competition of the portable Nintendo DS.

De PSP had een prijsverlaging nodig om de markt een nieuwe stimulans te geven. Wal-Mart bood de PSP op Black Friday gedurende 5 uur aan voor $169 en verkocht in die tijd meer dan 100.000 exemplaren", zegt analist Edward Williams van BMO Capital Markets.
Het is niet duidelijk of Sony aan een prijsverlaging denkt in Europa.
